The competition is divided into two categories:

High School Students (Ages 11-16)

Poster Challenge

Participants will research and design a creative A3 poster on one of the following topics:

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF): Production, use, and emission reduction.

Electric Aircraft: The development of eco-friendly air travel.

Hydrogen Fuel: Its role in zero-emission aircraft.

Sustainable Aircraft Design: Concepts for improved aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.

University Students & Youth (Ages 16-25)

Proposal Challenge

Develop a 1,000-word proposal addressing one critical sustainability challenge:

Scaling Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF): Expanding global production and use.

Carbon Capture and Storage: Solutions to reduce aviation’s carbon footprint.

New Engine Technology: Emerging technologies for efficiency and lower emissions.

Biomimicry in Aviation: Applying natural principles to aircraft design.

Program Timeline

Selected participants will take part in a structured program:

Training: Workshops and mentoring from aviation professionals.

Competition: Finalists will present their projects in a live pitch event.

Summit: Winners will receive recognition and the opportunity to attend the Sustainable Aviation Global Innovation Summit in the UK.

Judging Panel

Submissions will be evaluated by the AWAM Kenya Board of Directors, who provide expertise in aviation leadership, regulation, engineering, and sustainability.
